Which porta potty setup fits a Delhi job?
A Delhi setup for almond and peach orchard crews looks different from one for home building and remodels on rural lots. The table pairs each common Delhi job with the unit, count and service plan we would quote, using Cal/OSHA counts for crews and 1 unit per 50 guests for events.
| Delhi job | Setup | How many | Service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Almond and peach orchard crews | Standard or towable units plus hand-washing | 1 toilet and 1 sink per 20 workers within a quarter mile (Cal/OSHA §3457) | Weekly; twice weekly at harvest |
| Dairy and farm building projects | Standard units plus a hand-washing station | 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service (Cal/OSHA minimum 1 per 20) | Weekly; twice weekly for crews over 10 |
| Delhi Unified school campus projects | Standard units plus a hand-washing station | 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service (Cal/OSHA minimum 1 per 20) | Weekly; twice weekly for crews over 10 |
| Home building and remodels on rural lots | Standard unit, or deluxe with a sink for families | 1 unit for the household and a small crew | Weekly on a 28-day cycle |

What should you know before placing a porta potty in Delhi?
A porta potty in a Delhi street, sidewalk or other public right-of-way needs an encroachment permit from the Merced County Department of Public Works. A unit on private property, such as a driveway or fenced job site, usually does not need one.
- Weather and ground. Delhi's orchards sit on flat, sandy ground near the Merced River. Harvest shaking raises dust, so nearby units need more cleaning.
- Access. Many Delhi sites sit down orchard lanes off county roads. Mark the turn and share any gate codes ahead of time.
Read the California rules and permits guide for job-site and event counts.
Porta potty questions from Delhi
Who gives permits for a porta potty on a road in Delhi?
Merced County Department of Public Works handles it, because Delhi is not a city. You need its encroachment permit only if the unit sits in a county road right-of-way. Units placed on farm or home property usually need no permit. We can help you pick a spot off the road.
Can you service restrooms for an orchard crew near Delhi?
We service orchard units weekly or more often during harvest around Delhi. Shaking season kicks up a lot of dust, so units get extra cleaning. Tell us which orchard block the crew is in. We can move units as the crew moves, if you give us a day's notice.
How fast can you get a unit to Delhi from Turlock?
Same-day delivery is often possible, since Delhi is only about 12 minutes from our Turlock yard. Book early in the day for the best chance. Give us the address, gate code, and where the unit should go. We set it on level ground near your work area.
Do you deliver porta potties to Delhi town center and Hilmar?
Delhi town center and Hilmar are on our Delhi delivery list along with Irwin and Ballico. Same day when you call before noon, Monday to Saturday. Give the street address or a map pin, and mark the spot with a cone or chalk if you will not be home.
Can I put a portable toilet at McConnell State Recreation Area for an event?
McConnell State Recreation Area can take a unit once its office approves your Delhi event; ask where a truck may drive. The same goes for George Hatfield State Recreation Area. We deliver the day before and pick up the next business day.
Do you rent restroom trailers in Delhi?
Delhi restroom trailer rentals go to weddings, quinceañeras and formal parties, from Turlock south side backyards to Hilmar Park. Each trailer needs a hose and a 110V outlet, or our tank and generator. See trailer specs.
How much does a porta potty cost in Delhi?
A Delhi quote is built from the unit, your dates, the service plan and the 9-mile trip from Turlock, south on CA-99 to the Delhi exits, about 12 minutes. Events pay one flat price with delivery and pickup; job sites pay per 28 days with weekly cleaning. See the cost guide.
